Description

Patients with status epilepticus and head trauma have live-threatening neurological abnormalities that need immediate and appropriate care for a successful outcome. We will discuss a stabilisation protocol with 3 steps of antiepileptic therapy and a stabilisation protocol for patients with head trauma which is based on the pathophysiological de-arrangements happening secondary to primary head trauma.

The afternoon part is dedicated to intoxications. The first lecture discusses the general stabilisation and decontamination methods followed by discussion of the most common toxicities leading to either bleeding/anaemia or to neurological symptoms.
